Boxee lets you transform your standard home computer into a multimedia hub from which you can manage your local media files as well as a wealth of online media sources such as Flickr, Pandora, YouTube, Icanhascheezburger and LastFM, among many others. The program employs a novel interface which may take a little getting used to. Menus are hidden until you roll over them, giving you access to the different parts of the center; applications, local media, browsable online services and an app box from which you can select new applications to add to your dashboard.
Boxee is fully customizable, allowing you to set your preferences so that they will best serve your multimedia needs. You will need to sign up to the Boxee website (free of charge) to get the most from the program and form part of the online Boxee community.

What you were looking for in Multimedia.
I was thinking that XBMC was all, but talking about something else in multimedia is Boxee really good programme moreover that´s free. Thanks to Softonic that brings us these News in programmes.

Very Nice All Around Media Center.
Boxee is a very nice all around media center and is one of the best if you prefer one app doing everything for you. It can play almost any video file and audio file. you can watch certain stations and even subscribe to your own live video feeds. However it has it's flaws too.Some of the downsides to Boxee are the fact it can be extremely slow to start up and close down. The fact it opens by default in full screen mode which makes playing audio files a pain since usually most would like to do other things while listening to music. If your into doing other things at once besides just listening to music or just watching a video then Boxee is best suites for it's live feeds and for stations while letting another app work for video and audio files.All in all Boxee is a great addition to anyone's software collection even if just for the live feeds and different stations.

This is one of the best open source applications that I've ever used.
The ability to watch video content from the web on my PC this application is fun the ease-of-use is intuitive and best of all it's free.
